Tell
A Friend Scripts
By Vincent Newton (c) 2010
When
you are operating a virtual business the biggest issue that
you are likely to face is deciding on the best way to drive
traffic to your website. Business owners and even professional
web designers must face this problem on a daily basis. For
the business owners it is about finding the right niche market
and then enticing them to click on your link. For web designer
it is about designing the site in such a way as to not only
attract new business but keeping them coming back for me.
While there are many methods available to accomplish this
seemingly Herculean task, some are usually better than others
at certain and very few work well with all niches, products
or services.
One
of the more popular marketing methods recently has been viral
marketing. This technique relies on what amounts to word of
mouth advertising. Putting your product or service on as many
sites, blogs and directories as possible to increase your
businesses visibility. Once a reader sees what you have to
offer you can make it easy, and even profitable in some cases,
to pass the word to their network of friends and other connections.
Like
other online marketing, viral marketing has it´s variations.
One such is called tell-a-friend script. This makes it very
easy for your site visitor to pass on your information to
their network. With viral marketing it has been necessary
for someone desiring to pass the information on to actually
copy and paste the link to your site on an email, message
or posting on one of the social network sites. When you are
using the tell-a-friend scripts visitors who want to pass
the word can simply click a link, fill out a form with their
friends email and name and shoot it to them immediately without
worrying about losing the link or forgetting to send the message.
Once the friend receives the message they can see who it is
from, a friend, and they will be less likely to delete it
as spam and can even pass it on immediately to other friends
in their own network, thereby increasing your exposure exponentially.
This technique prevents your message and links from ending
up in the recycle bin or spam folder. Basically this is a
much needed improvement on the viral marketing techniques
that have grown in popularity over the last several years.
The
process is amazingly easy also. Copy the script and paste
it directly into the subject webpage. If you need to find
it again, use your search engine and look for “tell
a friend script”. You will get a lot of results for
pages offering scripts and you can use them as required.
Like
any marketing method however it will take some time for the
momentum to build. Take the time each day to add to the number
of scripts that you are using and the number of links you
are building. Let the network grow and daily feed its potential
by adding more and more possible roads to your business.
